WBFS : Wii Backup File System
WBFS is a container for multiple Wii discs. It will be used by most of the WBFS loaders.
File Formats
WDF : Wii(mms) Disc Format - better than packing images with RAR or ZIP
WIA : Wii(mms) ISO Archive - If compession with mode BEST the images are about 10-40% smaller than the same file in WDF. USB loaders can’t use WIA.
CISO : Compact ISO (=WBI) - can be used directly by USB loaders, when large chunk sizes with ≥1 MiB are used
GCZ : GameCube Zip - Dolphins (a GameCube and Wii emulator for PC) native image format
FST : extracted File System - a directory that contains all real and virtual files of a Wii discs as single files in the local files system.
WIT: Wiimms ISO Tools
- wwt: Wiimms WBFS Tool - It can create, check, repair, verify and clone WBFS files and partitions.
